Your heart needs some love & care!

(First post in short series relating to our hearts - how smart they are, how we try to protect them and what we can do to take care of them on every level!! )

How smart is your heart?

Our hearts are one of the most important organs in our bodies. If our hearts stop beating, we die -simple. Our brain can be medically "dead" and our hearts will go on living as long as they have the oxygen they need to survive.

In modern society we believe the brain to be the main source of our intelligence, thoughts and creativity. For ages it's been thought that our conscience is in our brains and it controls our actions and provides us with our moral compass.

This however, wasn't always the case!

It might be a surprise to many that in ancient times our hearts were viewed as the main source of wisdom and the part of us we used to choose between right and wrong.

Aristotle regarded the heart as the source of our power of thought.

Ancient Egyptians believed the metaphysical heart or ib was the source of wisdom, memories and thought, not the brains at all.

The brain was actually removed during the process of mummification, the heart however was left in the body, protected by a heart scarab, as it was thought to be important to entering the afterlife.

"The ib was believed to come into being at the moment of conception, created from a single drop of blood from the mother’s heart. The ib was said to survive the physical death of the body."

Sound familiar?

In traditional Chinese medicine, the heart or Xin was regarded as the most powerful of all the energy systems. The most vital role of the heart was thought to be that it is where the Shen or spirit is.

So, which one of these two organs is the power of our conscious awareness and intelligence? The heart or the brain? The new scientific field of neurocardiology studies how the heart & brain interact.

It shows the heart is a sensory organ which can receive and decode all kinds of information. The ‘heart brain’ can make decisions, remember and even learn. It sends signals to the brain that can affect brain functions like solving problems and memory.

At HeartMath, "research shows that when we feel negative emotions, such as fear or anger, the rhythm of the heart becomes unstable, sending signals to the brain to curb higher cognitive functions".

We make poorer decisions when we are put in stressful situations or are afraid. In dangerous situations we feel the full force of our negative emotions in our hearts not in our brains.

Our hearts have 40,000 sensory neurons that send information to the brain in 4 different ways.

Neurological communication (nervous system)

Biochemical communication (hormones)

Biophysical communication (pulse wave)

Energetic communication (electromagnetic fields)

The heart can even make an independent decision bypassing the cerebral cortex of the brain.

"Research findings have also discovered that the electromagnetic signals produced by our hearts can affect others around us. One person can change another’s brainwaves & the synchronization between the heart and mind is possible between two subjects."

This is a HUGE part of how by using the Emotion Code we can help others near and far.

In fact, the heart is our strongest source of our bio-electrical energy. 40-60% stronger than the electrical energy of the brain it is so powerful, it can actually be measured beyond our skin 3-4 feet outside our body in a 360-degree field. We literally broadcast our emotions to those around us all the time whether we are aware of it or not.

Think carrying around negative emotions isn't going to affect you or those around you?

Exceptional Cases have even been recorded of people who have survived with only their heart (and a machine) and been able to stay alive. Some even retained their memories.

Having been clinically or medically dead (braindead) and at the same time still having sensory awareness is still something that continues to baffle the medical community.

Is it a much higher dimension of mind coming largely from our hearts where it can store and process information that could be responsible?

If our hearts can communicate their importance to our subconscious minds what would we do with that information? Would be try to protect our hearts?

Absolutely!
